How custom prescription dive masks work
We don't replace your mask's glass. Our lab grinds a corrective lens to your prescription and bonds it to the inside of the mask lens. The result is a clear, permanent correction with no gaps for water or fog to get into, backed by a lifetime warranty against chipping, hazing or delamination, as long as the mask itself isn't damaged.
Which lens is right for you?
- Single vision for nearsighted or farsighted divers who need one correction for everything underwater.
- Bifocal if you need to read your dive computer, gauges or camera screen up close and still see the reef clearly. Readers are available too if you only need help up close.
- Astigmatism correction uses your cylinder and axis, so your vision is sharp instead of just "close enough".
- Prism for divers who have double vision correction in their glasses.
Not sure? Call us at 1 (800) 356-7190 and we'll go through your prescription with you.
Custom vs stock prescription masks
Stock prescription dive masks use premade lenses in half-diopter steps (0 to +4.00 and 0 to -8.00) and are a good budget option if both eyes are similar and you don't have astigmatism. Custom masks are made for each eye separately and can include astigmatism, prism and bifocals.
Turnaround, rush orders and FSA/HSA
Standard turnaround is about 2 to 4 weeks. Leaving soon? Rush service can get your mask done in as little as 3 business days for an added fee. Prescription dive masks and lenses are FSA and HSA eligible, and you can split payment into four with Afterpay.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my glasses prescription for a dive mask?
Yes. Send us your current glasses prescription and we make the lenses from it. Contact lens prescriptions are different, so use your glasses prescription.
Can you correct astigmatism in a dive mask?
Yes. Custom lenses include your cylinder and axis. Stock lens masks can't correct astigmatism. Read more about scuba diving with astigmatism.
Do you make bifocal dive masks?
Yes, along with single vision and reader lenses. See our bifocal dive mask lens options.
How strong a prescription can you make?
We've made dive mask prescriptions from -28 to +22. More on prescription dive masks for strong prescriptions.
Can I use FSA or HSA funds?
Yes, for the mask and lenses. Accessories like snorkels aren't eligible.
What if the mask doesn't fit or my vision isn't right?
Tell us within 30 days and we'll replace it. You pay shipping to us.
